March 2020 Letter re CBF from David Merger, Commandant of USMC
Dear Miss Lunelle,
In the fifth paragraph of the attached letter from US Marine Corps Commendant David H. Berger, there is truth ... "I am mindful that many people believe that flag (referring to the Southern Cross) to be a symbol of heritage or regional pride,” he said. And, it is to both red, yellow, brown, black and white folks of the South, no matter what the likes of the Northern run, and owned NAACP, and the Southern Poverty Law Center who continue to monetize their lies to dupe the people as they fill their coffers may say.

USMC Commendant Berger
BUT he goes on to say ... “but I am mindful of the feelings of pain and rejection of those who inherited the cultural memory and present effects of the scourge of slavery in our country.”
He presumes to assume that intelligent black folks have given the Stars and Stripes some kind of pass in the content discrimination he puts on the table and the role it and the U.S. Constitution played in the legalized system of the economic institution of African slavery.
David H. Berger is a liar, who in this letter, insults the intelligence of the sons and daughters of former Southern slaves.
We know the complicity in the theater of war that our ancestors played on the side of the South, both as civilians and in the Armed Services. And, furthermore, abhors those like him who continue to use them as the weapon of choice against their Southern white family to continue the Thaddeus Stephens reconstruction agenda of dividing us from our Southern white family, and the place of honor earned beside and with him in the War for Southern Independence.
And his attempt to whitewash the accepted and honorable role that the Southern Cross bore both in WWII, and the Korean War under the Command of men like General Douglas McArthur in the Federal armed services, and in every theater of war since clearly exposes his dishonesty, and unacceptable desire for his Command because he offends the loyal black folks of the South who don't want to have the honor of their ancestors push aside by the likes of him and those like him bent on Southern social and cultural genocide.
He should have followed the role of the men and women of the Junior ROTC program at King High School in Tampa as they presented during Black History Month.... "The role of the black Confederate soldier, and his family during the War for Southern Independence ".
We the Southern people have tried so very hard to honor the charge that the Honorable General Robert E. Lee put before us to lay down our arms, and come back to this nation as one people. Yet, we, and our children are supposed to accept the false narrative that the honorable Stand that our ancestors made against tyranny, the circumventing of the rule of Constitutional law, and the illegal invasion of our homeland was about maintaining the worldwide economic institution of African slavery. God bless you!
Your brother,
