Dear Ms. Lunelle,
Here I sit on Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2025 in conversation with my babies on whether I will be rejected in attending the upcoming annual Martin Luther King Peace March in my hometown of Asheville, North Carolina or the one in Cross City, Florida because I and the Organizations I represent are “dangerous” according to Facebook.
Never mind that a portion of the United States Internal Revenue Code has allowed these organizations Federal tax exemption status because they have met the IRS code’s requirements as non-profit organizations for decades.
Here I am, holder of more Honorary Life Memberships in the Sons of Confederate Veterans than any man alive. Here I am, Recipient of the Key to the Cities of Toccoa, Georgia and Carthage, Texas while being sponsored by the Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy and citizens on both sides of the Mason Dixon on a March deemed the Historic March Across Dixie, don in the uniform of the Southern Soldier with the Southern Cross in hand marching 20 miles a day, six days a week from Asheville, North Carolina to the Capitol in Austin, Texas representing my Southern family, and their ancestors.
All this was captured for display in the Photo Journal authored by Terry Lee Edgerton titled the" Historic March Across Dixie!" Here I am, having marched alongside then the youngest Camp Commander in the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the Honorable Fred Taylor on a March honoring Black History Month while stopping in Littleton, North Carolina at the black marble Confederate Cenotaph and on to Richmond, Virginia.
However, after Facebook's recent depiction of myself and the Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy as “dangerous,” IF something happens to me during my planned Re-enactment of that journey this year during Black History Month, my family will, no doubt, have a claim against them.
And not to forget as we speak of Virginia, here I am one of the Plaintiffs in the Federal lawsuit to be heard this very January 20, 2025 in regards to putting back the Reconciliation Memorial Cenotaph in Arlington National Cemetery in which after being libeled and slandered by Facebook in all likelihood will have a negative influence on the outcome of the case.
I pray that the Court will look at this the way the Japanese looked at General Douglas MacArthur, a man they fought against, awarded him Japan's highest honor, "the Grand Cordon of the Rising Sun with Paulownia Flowers” after WWII.
Just like President William McKinley awarded this Reconciliation Memorial Cenotaph to the Southern people because of the great patriotic and heroic stand made by the former Confederate soldiers in the Spanish-American War. God bless you!
Your brother,
