Dear Ms. Lunelle,
On our second day in the streets of Massachusetts, I would so proudly, once again, don the uniform of the Southern Soldier with the Southern Cross in hand as we made our way past the State House in downtown Boston, passing the ubiquitous chained-in Cenotaph of General John Hooker on the Capitol grounds…and finally, crossing the street to where the Cenotaph of the 54th Massachusetts stood on the edge of the Boston Common.
Not long after posting the Southern Cross at the Cenotaph of the 54th Massachusetts than would a white man and his wife would come up as he expressed his surprise and curiosity as to why a black man would have the nerve and audacity to don the Confederate Grey and would post the Confederate Battle flag at this site.
